Description:

In these images Comet 106P/Schuster was magnitude 15.2, 165 million miles from Earth, had a 17 arc second wide coma and a tail at least 0.02 degrees long at a position angle of 245 degrees from the coma. The comet will be at perihelion in it's 7.30 year orbit in August 2021 at 142 million miles from the Sun. The comet will make it's close approach to Earth in December 2021 at 110 million miles. The comet is only expected to brighten to about magnitude 15.
