Description:
In these images Comet 110P/Hartley is magnitude 17.3, has a coma 8 arc seconds wide, a tail that is 0.005 degrees long at a position angle of 288 degrees from the coma and is 288 million miles from Earth. The comet will be at perihelion in it's 6.84 year orbit in October 2021 when it will be 228 million miles from the Sun. The comet may brighten to about magnitude 15 in January 2022 when it makes it's close approach to Earth at 143 million miles.
