Description:
In these images Comet 15P/Finlay was magnitude 12.8, 114 million miles from Earth and had a 56" coma. The comet was at perihelion in it's 6.56 year orbit on 13 July 2021 when it was 92 million miles from the Sun. The comet made it's close approach to Earth on 17 June 2021 at 101 million miles. The comet was expected to brighten to magnitude 11 at this time, others estimate the comet has brightened to about magnitude 11.
