Description:

Comet 231P/LINEAR-NEAT was 233 million miles from Earth in these images at magnitude 18.9 . The collection of one hour of images appear to show a very faint tail above the coma. Comet 231P will reach perihelion in it's 8.05 year orbit on June 14 when it will be 281 million miles from the Sun. 231P may brighten to magnitude 18 this spring.
