Description:

I captured a cryovolcanic eruption/outburst of the comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann from my backyard. It was only 6 days after a sudden brightening by more than 4 magnitudes on November 22, 2022. In the left hand side image, the structures in the coma are visible The image on the right was processed with 20 degree gradient rotation filter (in Siril) which enhances the fine details and makes the density structures of jets pop in the core's vicinity. ---------- Skywatcher Stargate 450p dobsonian, alt-az mount, 18" f4.2 (reduced to f3 with Starizona Nexus) Camera ZWO ASI 183MM monochrome ---------- Imaging technique using sharpcap, L-RGB Luminance: (Baader neodymium filter): 7 x 300s Taken at 1s subs, live stacked R,G,B: RGB-set ZWO, at 4s subs (540s total integration per channel)
