The image was constructed from 60 x 300 second exposures with an 8” Meade LX200 ACF telescope with OPTEC reducer, ANTILA ALP-T Dual Narrowband filter. ASI294MC-PRO, ASAIR Plus, ASI174mm-mini for guiding with ASI OAG, CEM40 mount. Processed and combined using APP and PS.

The is a closeup of IC1396A, the Elephant Trunk Nebula in the constellation Cepheus. It is a 3 million old area of multigenerational star formation that is being illuminated, ionized, and triggered by a powerful star located in the center of a much larger bubble.
