Description:
I have an Australian Shepherd named Cassiopeia, "Cassie" for short. Her name comes from the constellation in the night sky, and she is my heart and soul. When I started this new hobby of astrophotography earlier this year, one of my goals was to capture this beautiful Heart Nebula in honor of her; and now I have finally done it! Photographed under the Bortle 7 skies of my backyard, I have captured this image with narrowband filters, and used the Hubble palette for color. In total, it was a little shy of 3 hours' worth of imaging data. Picture can be credited to myself: Eli Hazen. Thank you for your consideration!
