Description:
What I like best about this hobby is the endless number of targets to capture, many of which I did not even know existed until seeing a reference to them from another astrophotographer. Someone mentioned IC 410, The Tadpole Nebula so I decided to see if I could capture it. I had a short 2 hour window between predicted cloud fronts in my area so I concentrated the time on this one target. I am very happy with the results and I can see why it’s called “The Tadpole Nebula”. There’s 2 of them at the top. First attempts on a new target. Although the seeing was below average for this session, the nebula came through very well. This image is a stack of 500x10 second exposures at 120 gain. More proof that Alt/Azimuth mounts can indeed do deep sky imaging. This is my 15th month since I first began astrophotography, at age 63.
