Description:

Jupiter with its two moons Io (right) and Europa (left). The different colours of the two moons are clearly visible in the image. While Io has a yellowish glow due to its sulphur-coated surface, Europa appears whitish due to its icy surface. Its distinctive dark cloud bands and white zones can be recognised in the gas giant's atmosphere. The image also shows the great red spot in the planet's southern equatorial band.
