Description:
NGC 1499, the "California Nebula" is an emission nebula in Perseus. I imaged it over several nights with an HaOIII filter (4+ hours integration) and added an hour of RGB stars. and I was pleasantly surprised with the brightness and detail in this nebula . This was processed entirely in Pixinsight without bringing it into Photoshop, including painting out the halo and artifacts around Menkib.
