Description:

This is an image of a beautiful star forming region in the constellation Corona Australis. You can see two diffraction spikes from the bright star on the lower right. This implies that there are two stars here. Those two stars along with the two bright stars in the upper left illuminate these reflection nebulae, NGC 6726, the left lobe, and IC 4812 on the lower right. Their light is reflected by the surrounding dust creating the beautiful blue filaments. There is also an emission/reflection nebula, NGC 6729, on the left side, below and to the left of the two bright central stars. The field is dotted with small patches of nebulosity (red) indicative of star formation regions.
