Description:

The North America Nebula (NGC 7000) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, close to Deneb (the tail of the swan and its brightest star). The shape of the nebula resembles that of the continent of North America, complete with a prominent Gulf of Mexico. It is located very near to the Pelican Nebula, both of which have been high enough in the night sky to allow imaging all night long (or at least till the clouds intervene). This image is two full nights of imaging, 13.3 hours of exposure/integration time.
