Description:

I drove out to a spot just outside of the city of Palo Pinto, TX. My initial goal was to capture the Pleaides, However the Moon was pretty bright. I, unfortunately was unable to capture the quality frames that I had hoped for. The constellation Orion had just risen over the horizon at about the time I was getting ready to pack up my gear. So, last minute, I swung the camera over to the Orion Nebula to see what frames I could get. By this time the Moon had set, and the sky was much darker. After a couple of frames, I decided to take a few more. I captured 20/2 minute frames along with 5 dark frames for calibration. I processed these later in the day and this is resulting image.
