Description:
This is a composite image of the Perseid meteor shower from Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Over 1200 images were taken between about 9:30pm MDT on August 12 to about 2:0am MDT on August 13, 2023. Out of those 1200+ images, 48 frames contained one or more meteors. Each frame was rotated with respect to the North Celestial Pole to position the meteors into the correct position relative to the background stars, and combined to produce a final image which clearly shows the meteors radiating from a point in the constellation Perseus.
