Description:

The conjunction of the two brightest planets, Jupiter and Venus (2023-03-01), offered a most beautiful view on their intense luminosity in the night sky. This image was taken at the Douglas Family Preserve in Santa Barbara and shows the two planets just above the University and Airport. Whereas Venus was bright but dull, Jupiter showed off its moons (Callisto, Ganymed and Io) in all of their beauty. Europa, however, appeared to be hiding behind the planet at the time of the exposures.
