On November 6-2013 the Waxing Cresent Moon is 7.4 degrees north of Venus, just small portion of the Moon was lit up by the sun, the rest is lit up by Earthshine sunlight reflected off of our planet back onto the moon (and then back again to our eyes). While in between the two objects is a surprise, an open star cluster NGC 6530, and if you look hard you will notice a small gostly glow inside NGC 6530 (the Lagoon Nebula)
