As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.

Join AOSNY (www.aosny.org) on the 1st Sunday of every month from September through June. (No Meetings During the Summer due to vacations and Star Parties). Please visit our webpage frequently for the monthly special guest speaker. Meetings are held at Hofstra University - Berliner Hall Room 117, on California Avenue in the Town of Hempstead. Hofstra University is accessible by Car, Mass Transit, Bus, LIRR. There are chance times that the meeting will be held at The Cradle of Aviation, located in Garden City.
