As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.

Deep Sky Gazes at Big Lagoon State Park

$6On Saturday, March 30th, the EAAA will host a deep sky gaze at Big Lafoon State Park, The third quarter moon will nor interfere with observing from one of the darkest sites on the Gulf Coast. We have scopes of many sizes and designs for visual observing and digital imaging. We will pay special attention to devloping Comet Pons-Brooks in the western sky, just a week before the solar eclipse. Remember to check in before the gate closes about 7 PM. we provide star charts, sky interpretation, and telescope and eclipse observing advice.
