As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.

NCRAL 2026, The Eastern Iowa Cosmic Conference

This is the annual conference of the North Central Region of the Astronomical League scheduled in Cedar Rapids, IA May 15-17, 2026. The conference is called the Eastern Iowa Cosmic Conference. This will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel and Convention Complex in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA. We have a tremendous line up of speakers that will provide a very exciting conference. Your spouse and family will enjoy all the other activities that Cedar Rapids has to offer. Our NCRAL 2026 website will be live and open in the next weeks for registration and our speakers and program agenda. Please check back later this month to register and find more information.
