Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.
You’ll also see online events offered here.
And if you’d like free copies of Sky & Telescope‘s Let’s Go Stargazing flyer or door prizes for your next star party, you can fill out this form.

Rosse Observatory open evening

April 8, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm BST

Enjoy an evening of stargazing with friendly astronomers from the West Yorkshire Astronomical Society at this one of their regular open evenings of their fantastic Rosse Observatory.

Enjoy amazing views through their large 14″ aperture Schmidt-Cassegrain reflecting telescope. These events go ahead no matter the weather, with guest speakers, presentations or an informal, friendly chat in the observatory warm room taking place if cloudy.

The first Tuesday of each month is a public open night, where you may just turn up without booking.

On all other nights, please email the Society’s Visitor Co-ordinator to book an appointment.
