As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.

Stargazing in Dalby Forest

Join enthusiastic astronomers from the Scarborough & Ryedale Astronomical Society for their public stargazing event at the Low Dalby Astronomy Centre in Dalby Forest.
See the stars, planets, nebulae and galaxies through powerful telescopes under some of the darkest skies in the country. These events are ideal for families, couples and stargazers from all backgrounds.
If the weather happens to be inclement, please don’t be put off. A member of the society will give a talk / virtual tour indoors.
The event is FREE, however Forestry England charge a fee on exiting the forest which is reduced using a code you will be given. To attend you will need to reserve spaces via the Ticket Tailor website. Tickets are released one month before the event date.
