Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.

STARS Over Springfield

Join members of the Springfield Stars Club for skygazing in the Science Museum’s observatory. If overcast, attendees will be offered a tour of the observatory.

Tonight’s Topic: Halley's Comet at Aphelion Halley's Comet starts its long return! Club members will share remembrances of its last appearance in 1985/6 and talk about prospects for it's 2061 return.

Purchase entry on the evening of the program at the Museums: $3 adults, $2 children.
