First telescope at age 13 back in 1968 (Christmas present; a little Sears table refractor). Fell in love with the sky, and so in 1970 saved up enough money from my paper route and babysitting to buy an 80mm Sears refractor on an equatorial mount. Joined the Astronomy Club of Tulsa and started receiving issues of "Sky and Telescope"!!! Missed the sky for a few years; became a software engineer. In 1986 I sold my old 80mm refractor and purchased a "state-of-the-art" Celestron 8" SC on a Super-Polaris mount. Still have that scope! Fast-forward to the 21st century; retired in 2013, spent years fixing up an old cabin in the Davis Mountains of west Texas (only four miles from the McDonald Observatory!). In the summer of 2019 bought a Sky-Shed dome and a Celestron RASA 11" mounted on a Meade LX850 mount. Enjoying retirement and the sky!
