Description:

A few moments after C3, more of the photosphere along the western limb of the sun is revealed yet not enough to completely outshine the corona around the rest of the moon's limb. The combination of the bright photosphere and the corona create the illusion of a diamond ring. A bright red prominence is still visible along the 3 o'clock radial of the sun's limb and a smaller prominence appears along the 4 o'clock radial. Some of the sun's red chromosphere is still visible on either side of the "diamond".
