Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.
You’ll also see online events offered here.
And if you’d like free copies of Sky & Telescope‘s Let’s Go Stargazing flyer or door prizes for your next star party, you can fill out this form.

*Tri*Star* – The Triad Starfest

March 5, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST

*TRI*STAR* 2022

The 2022 edition of TriStar will be a virtual event Saturday, 5 March.

Traditionally, The Triad Starfest, *Tri*Star* for short, is a conference of astronomers of all types, from novice to professional, for a full day of presentations, displays, and observing. The event allows astronomy enthusiasts to share ideas, learn about a range of astronomical topics, get together with old friends, and make new ones. The event draws astronomers from North Carolina and surrounding states.

But this year, because of the pandemic, we have planned a virtual version of *Tri*Star* 2022 to be held on Saturday, 5 March, with presentations in the morning and afternoon. Links to the live presentations can be found in the schedule below. For most of the speakers, recordings of the talks will be available through these links after the event.

The Greensboro Astronomy Club will conduct an astrophotography contest in conjunction with this event.
